Aproximación a una tipología arquitectónica: Las Librerias Catedralicias de Castilla y León (España)
Abstract
This article tryes to study the spanish cathedral libraries of the last Middle Ages and the beginning of the Renaissance. The scarce knowledge of these spaces in the european historiography has moved us to establish its characteristics, chronology and typologies and to know the reasons of their creation, their models and its evolution in the castilian kingdom. The results of this article has showed the analogy in typology and function with other european libraries, specially with the french, german and british ones; in fact we can establish the important role of spanish cathedral libraries in the history of the spaces of knowledge, a role not enough assessed until know.
